Two people were killed in a collision between a bus and a bakkie in Durban CBD on Sunday night.
ALS Ambulance Director Garris Jamieson said they responded to the crash on the corner of Stanger Street and Somtsew Road in the Durban CBD at around 11.30pm on Sunday.
“Arriving emergency personnel found a carnage as two vehicles collided at an intersection, then left the roadway and came to rest on the sidewalk.

“Paramedics encountered multiple casualties and immediately requested more support resources, including the eThekweni fire department. Rescue arrived and triage was conducted, resulting in approximately 20 passengers on the bus suffering from various injuries. It turned out that I was in debt,” he said.
Mr Jamison added that the man and woman in the bakkie, believed to be in their 30s, suffered serious injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do and they were pronounced dead at the scene.
“At this stage, it is unclear what led up to the accident, but SAPS and Metro Police are also present and will investigate further,” he said.
