Harbourside's new campus provides world-class education and research facilities in the heart of Sydney
The University of Wollongong's (UOW) Sydney CBD campus will relocate from the Gateway Building at Circular Quay to Tower 1 at Darling Park, adjacent to Darling Harbour.
The new learning space by the harbor is newly equipped and students will be ready to start classes in August for the start of Term 3.
This move is a strategic choice to support UOW students from across the Sydney metropolitan area, ensuring we can deliver a quality educational experience where students are.
UOW Interim Vice-Chancellor and President Professor John Dewar AO welcomed the move, which will provide state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities while keeping the UOW Sydney CBD campus in the heart of the city.
“The move of our Sydney CBD campus to Darling Park is a positive change for our staff, current students and future academics, and is consistent with our core mission of providing a world-class educational experience,” Professor Dewar said. said.
“We look forward to embarking on this new chapter together and building an even more vibrant and dynamic teaching and learning environment.”
Looking towards Pyrmont from Darling Park, the campus will be spread over two floors and will include teaching space, a library, student support services and a variety of meeting spaces.
The building includes retail stores and a food court, with direct access to the Cockle Bay entertainment district. It also has good access to public transportation such as trains and light rail.
Initially, the UOW Sydney CBD campus will offer a postgraduate degree in business from UOW's Sydney Business School, with additional courses to be added over time.
