A group of Baton Rouge-area entrepreneurs has launched The Alliance, a nonprofit aimed at connecting small businesses with resources, relationships and coaching.
Stuart Gilley, CEO and co-founder of The Alliance and managing partner of boutique investment firm Trillity Partners, said the group is a group of entrepreneurs, advisors and investors who are more than just a network, they genuinely connect with each other. He says he wanted to create a community that could support him.
“We are building a network of like-minded individuals who are committed to growing their businesses while contributing to their communities,” says Gilley. “We believe that a strong business environment instilled with a spirit of giving back creates stronger, healthier communities.”
Pete Bush, Jennifer Fowler, Phillip LaFargue, Scott Hogdin and Mowe Takyi are founding members of the initial nonprofit, which was registered with the state in August. Julie Laperouse will also serve as coach, according to the announcement.
The organization is aimed at companies with less than $10 million in annual revenue and will offer one-on-one coaching sessions, peer group sessions and networking opportunities. The alliance is launching its first group this month, with 30 small business owners and entrepreneurs signing on as members.
