Dogs suffer during fireworks while their pet parents celebrate Independence Day…but CBD can help.
The 4th of July will feature food, barbecues, parades, and fireworks. It's a great day with lots of fun, except for man's best friend. While we gaze in wonder at the vivid display (and try to snap a decent photo), the dogs are distressed and even a little startled. Dogs have excellent hearing, and the unexpected thud of fireworks can disorient dogs and make them very anxious. If left untreated, lightning and fireworks can continue to confuse the animal. Using CBD to calm your dog during fireworks could make your furry friend's day better.
Fireworks took place at the first organized celebration of Independence Day on July 4, 1777. Fireworks originated as a tradition in the United States and are used around the world for Independence Day, New Year's Eve, and other major events. However, animal control facilities have seen a 30% increase in missing pets between July 4th and 6th, making July 5th one of the shelters' busiest days. The poor people are frightened by unpredictable loud noises. But how can you enjoy them without traumatizing your pup? Consider using CBD.

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound found in cannabis and hemp. Most CBD products are derived from hemp rather than marijuana. CBD doesn't contain THC, so you can get a sense of relief without getting high. CBD for pets is recommended based on dosages based on pet size, not human size. The way to administer cannabis to your pet is by using CBD oil and rubbing it into their ears. CBD-infused treats won't get your pet high and will reduce stress, but they should be taken at least 40 minutes before the fireworks or noise begins.
The American Kennel Club shares that CBD can be used because it has anti-inflammatory, cardiac, anti-nausea, appetite-stimulating, and anti-anxiety effects. When using CBD for your pet, here are some suggestions.
Look for organic. If CBD oil is not organic, it must at least be free of pesticides, fungicides, and solvents. Don't shop based on price alone. Higher quality and purity usually come with higher costs. Cheaper options may contain toxic substances such as pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals. Make sure your CBD oil does not contain any additives. Get the analysis. Manufacturers must provide a certificate proving the amount of CBD in their products. Many CBD products contain only small amounts of CBD. You also want to make sure your product contains little to no THC. Purchase CBD as a liquid. Although you can purchase dog treats containing CBD, the best form to administer is an oil or tincture. This way, you can adjust your dog's dose drop by drop.
Like alcohol, marijuana should not be given to pets. May cause poisoning in cats and dogs. Some people think it's funny to get animals high, but it's extremely dangerous for the animal and not funny at all.
