To strengthen these efforts, his team was awarded R$500,000 (US$104,000) in funding from the Brazilian government. The effort is estimated to take at least five years.
Market analysis firm Vantage Market Research predicts a bright future for CBD.
The company estimates the global market for CBD to be close to US$5 billion, and is expected to grow to more than US$47 billion by 2028, primarily due to health and wellness uses.
