Special Colombian chicken is sold here at low prices.
Currently, Harvey's only offers one protein option: Colombian Chicken ($19 for a half, $38 for a whole), and four sides: potato gratin ($4), pita bread ($4), and cucumber. and tomato salad ($4), lettuce, rocket, and arugula. Salad ($5). Sauces, on the other hand, include garlic sauce made with tomatoes, chili peppers, and onions, and salsa Roja Mexican sauce.
The highlight is definitely the Colombian chicken, which is one of Panamericana's best-selling dishes. A Panamericana spokesperson said the chicken is “made with a family recipe that blends 16 spices and sauces marinated for over 48 hours,” including paprika, cumin and mustard.
For comparison, a whole Colombian chicken at Panamericana costs $64 ($32 for a half), compared to $38 for a whole at Harvey's.
Why the big price difference? “We use the same high-quality, free-range, antibiotic-free chicken as Panamericana, but the main difference is in the way we cook it. At Harvey's, our chicken is pre-cooked for immediate serving, whereas Panamericana “We grill our chicken to order, which takes extra care and effort. This extra step contributes to higher prices,” a Panamericana spokesperson explains.
She pointed out that Harvey's roasts its Colombian chicken in batches in an on-site oven.
All food at Harvey's is prepared on-site daily, she added, and customers can look forward to additional sides such as roasted vegetables and seasonal salads in the near future.
