Flu season is here!
Influenza (Flu) is a contagious respiratory disease caused by the influenza virus. Influenza is unpredictable and constantly changing, so new strains emerge each year. People at risk for complications from the flu include young children, adults over 65, pregnant women, and people with pre-existing medical conditions or weakened immune systems.
DC 37 members can receive a free flu shot using their health insurance card at in-network pharmacies and providers. Think about protecting yourself and your family now.
Latest information regarding the new coronavirus infection
The number of people infected with the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is on the rise. The CDC recommends that everyone six months of age and older receive the updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine. This will protect you from the potentially serious consequences of COVID-19 this fall and winter, regardless of whether you have previously received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The effectiveness of each vaccine decreases over time as COVID-19 variants continue to change, so the latest COVID-19 ) It is important to get vaccinated.
Additionally, every household in the United States is eligible to order four free COVID-19 tests at COVIDTests.gov. The COVID-19 test detects current variants of COVID-19 and will be available until the end of the year. Please place your order today.

The DC 37 Green Job Training Program is expanding!
The DC 37 Education Fund is pleased to announce the Green Jobs Training Expansion Program. This is a grant-funded training program for eligible DC 37 members to receive free practical instruction in areas of need in the green economy and energy sector.
Training courses include Energy Audit, Multifamily and Commercial Building Analyst, Carbon Accounting, LEED Green Associate, Energy Benchmarking, and Construction Management. These and other courses prepare members to earn certifications and licenses offered and recognized by the Building Performance Institute, the Urban Green Council, and the Institute of Energy Engineers.

Computer courses for DC 37 members
DC 37 Educational Fund offers a variety of computer courses to meet the various needs of its members. To learn more about the program, click on the class below that interests you and register today.
Regarding changes to tuition refund benefits
Eligible DC 37 members will now be reimbursed up to $1,500 from the DC 37 Education Fund for classes, courses, and workshops taken on or after January 1, 2024, as long as reimbursement requirements are met. I did. Additionally, tuition refund applications can now be submitted entirely online.

scholarship opportunities
Educational Incentive Program (EIP) This scholarship is awarded based on income, with up to $2,500 per year for college courses and $1,250 for CDA. This scholarship is available only to classroom personnel. AFSCME Family Scholarship A renewable $2,000 scholarship (for four years) awarded annually to a member high school graduate. Deadline is Tuesday, December 31st
