High-profile government actions
During these meetings, governments report on what they have done with respect to the promises they have made. Consider once again the opportunity for global media attention, environment ministers to come together, civil society to work together, and world leaders to talk about the importance of the natural world. Neither can we!
That's why COP is holding governments to account and exploring how we, civil society and the wider conservation community, can support them to achieve bigger, faster and better action for nature. This is an important opportunity for understanding.
Momentum driving solutions
CBD COP16 gives countries and all nature stakeholders an opportunity to come together to find common ground and solutions to save nature. As a result of this cooperation, we have been able to achieve global goals to protect nature and support frameworks agreed to by more than 196 countries.
