SALISBURY — Cannabis retailer Stem Haverhill took over two popular Salisbury Beach stores on Sept. 17 to host its first ever beach bash, raising $10,000 for Patriots Supporting Veterans.
The event, attended by 300 people, was held at Surfside and Salisbury Beach Carousel. It featured DJs, dancing, a boardwalk caricature artist, a merry-go-round, a glam station, an Italian ice station, and local artists and musicians.
Patriots Helping Vets is a nonprofit organization that provides equipment and services to veterans who benefit from plant medicine.
The Beach Bash was the last of three events Stem held this year to benefit its nonprofit partners. In August, Stem hosted Blast in the Grass, which raised $10,000 for YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts.
In May, Stem hosted the Power of Flower, which raised $10,000 for the Parabola Center, a nonprofit think tank focused on cannabis policy reform and antitrust law.
Stem will host its second annual Bon and Pon in April, which will also raise money for local charities.
“Our mission from the beginning has been to provide our customers with the best cannabis products on the market, while also helping worthy charities provide critical services to more people in their communities,” said Stem owner Caroline Pineau. Our goal was to help them do so.”
“The Beach Bash was certainly a great celebration and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout and the money raised to support organizations that do such important work for veterans.” she added.
Pinault said the beach bash and the two events that preceded it once again highlighted the cannabis community's commitment to local and regional support and philanthropy.
Since opening in 2020, Stem has raised more than $250,000 for local charities.
