Funlab (Holey Moley, Hijinx Hotel, Strike Bowling) specializes in competitive socializing and currently operates over 50 gaming bars across Australia. And one of its most popular sites, Holey Moley on Little Bourke Street, has just undergone a major expansion.
On Friday, October 11th, Funlab staff unveiled a new-look mini-golf space decked out with new automatic scoring and live leaderboards, bonus point scoring games, and a host of other cutting-edge technology.
The main Caddyshack bar has also been expanded to accommodate guests visiting the new venue, Holey Moley Funhouse, downstairs.
Here, putters are invited to put down their clubs and take part in nine different challenge games similar to those seen at the team's Hijinx Hotel.
These include a ball pit, a throwing challenge, an egg and spoon race full of obstacles, a rapid-fire memory game, and putt-putt-pong (I'm not entirely sure what this is). Some of these games are played as a team, but most of the time teams are pitted against each other.
All of these games can be played with a drink in hand, as well as a mini golf bar upstairs. Or at least you can put down a few drinks while you compete with your buddies in their respective gaming areas.
Holey Moley Funhouse similarly taps into a nostalgic 80s and 90s vibe, but it feels more like a carnival than a mini golf course.
“Holey Moley Funhouse combines two of our guests’ favorite experiences: the Hijinx Hotel Challenge Room and the competitive, nostalgic fun of Holey Moley. Not only have we created the Funlab concept, we believe we have also created the most playful new bar in Melbourne!” says Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber.
Holey Moley Funhouse is located at 590 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne. Please visit the venue's website for more information.
