News release from the Maine Cannabis Police Department:
AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) today expands its health and safety recall for adult-use cannabis and cannabis products produced by Nova Farms. The first recall, issued on October 11, 2024, included crushed adult-use cannabis flower, pre-rolls, and blunts of the “Frosted Cookies” strain. The expanded recall includes additional crushed adult-use cannabis flowers of the “Frosted Cookie” strain, pre-rolls, blunts, and crushed flower of the “Frosay” strain.
The products affected by the first recall were sold at 14 adult-use cannabis retailers. Nine additional stores in Auburn, Bethel, Bridgeton, Elliott, Gardiner, Lewiston, Portland and Waterville also sold products affected by the expanded recall. As part of an ongoing investigation into data irregularities between mandatory test results reported to OCP and subsequent audit tests conducted by OCP, consumers who purchased these products are being asked to return them to retailers. or it must be discarded. Consumers who consume these products and experience symptoms or side effects should contact their physician immediately.
All cannabis for adult use must have a label on the package indicating the batch number of the product. Consumers should check the label of their crushed flower, pre-roll, or blunt for the batch number listed under “Product Information” below.
