A man died in hospital after being assaulted in Melbourne's CBD earlier this week.
The 44-year-old man, from Seddon in Melbourne's inner west, was walking on Elizabeth Street near Flinders Street Station on Wednesday night when he was punched in the head by a man who approached him.
The victim was taken to the hospital with serious head injuries.
He passed away on Saturday.

Homicide squad detectives have been conducting an “extensive search” for Todd Menegald in the days since the assault.
Police said the suspect, known as Rooster, owned a black and white Staffordshire terrier.
He is said to be approximately 180-185cm tall and of a thin build.
He is known to frequent the CBD around Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street stations, as well as Mildura and Bendigo.

He was last seen wearing a purple zip-up sweater, dark jeans, and a yellow beanie.
Police are asking anyone who sees him not to approach him and to contact Triple 0.
