How lucky are we? Not only has Windsor been named the 10th coolest region in the world, a recent study found that Australia's gastronomic capital is – drum roll please – Melbourne. Sorry, Sydney! Additionally, Melbourne's CBD has the highest concentration of top restaurants in the country.
But you're probably wondering how this study revealed this result? It's simple. Olive oil producer Morella Grove searched each Australian suburb on TripAdvisor and counted the number of restaurants with reviews of 4.5 stars or higher. There are an astonishing 508 highly rated restaurants across Melbourne, with 501 in the CBD itself.
Sydney's CBD followed suit, with 256 eateries receiving rave reviews. Even if you leave the city center, the gastronomic delights never end. According to the study, Richmond ranks top among non-CBD suburbs, featuring 83 highly rated spots. You'll find great restaurants and bars here, including Clover, winner of the 2023 Best Wine Bar award, as well as New Quarter, Lene, the recently reopened Anchovy, Waygood, and live venue Corner Hotel. The results for Melbourne are as follows:

It's no secret that Fitzroy and St Kilda are both popular spots for dining out, with 77 and 60 of the suburb's restaurants rated 4.5 stars or above in this study. It supports a great store. Brunswick, Carlton, Hawthorn, Preston, Footscray and South Yarra were also mentioned.
