MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A colorful business in downtown Minot called Magic City Hoagies and Sweets has evolved through customer experiences over the past decade.
The fast-casual restaurant serves freshly made sandwiches and almost every sweet dessert imaginable.
Owner Christine Staley said she always wanted to create high-quality creations, like sandwiches that wouldn't fall apart when eaten. She believes this space is all-inclusive, whether you want something sweet, savory, or just want to sit and relax.
Staley said every inch of the store is designed to make people happy.
“We know it gets dark in the winter, so having a palm tree in the window is a bit of a surprise. With the bright lights and happy mood, it feels like you're in a theatrical experience. Especially in the winter. At Maude, we want to bring joy,” Staley said.
Staley said the secret to staying in business for 10 years is paying attention to customers and making dreams come true. In her words, if people don't listen to their customers, it will be difficult to stay in business.
“Those 10 years felt like a blob of time when tastes changed. We know we need to evolve what was interesting, but what people wanted at the time. And what do you want to spend? That's why we've changed our menu over the last few years. I've been looking and listening,” Staley said.
