LAHORE: Punjab Central Business District (CBD) Chief Executive Officer Imran Amin on Saturday chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing development projects.
It may be noted here that the Punjab CBD was working on major infrastructure enhancement projects such as CBD Route 47, Walton level crossing flyover and Walton Road. During the meeting, Imran Amin was briefed on the current status of all projects. He directed that the water bonding layer of the Walton Road Level Crossing Viaduct be completed promptly and asphalt work be commenced immediately. Technical Director Riaz Hussain, Construction Director Asif Babar, Project Management Director Asif Iqbal, Architecture and Planning Director Sameer Aftab Sial, senior executives from Nespak and NLC, and project contractors met attended. The CBD Punjab CEO was informed that the asphalt work on Walton Road from Defense Mor to Kainchi has been completed and it is now open for traffic. Additionally, the last asphalt layer of Major Ishaq Shaheed flyover has been completed and is expected to be fully open for traffic within a day or two.
The CBD Punjab CEO also visited the CBD Route 47 Walton Level Crossing Viaduct and emphasized the need to expedite the completion of the water restraint layer and start asphalt work as soon as possible.
Imran Amin, during his visit, said National Highway 47 and Walton level crossing flyover is an important link between Gulberg and Walton Road. Once completed, this link will improve traffic flow and bring peace of mind to the people of Lahore.
