Autumn is football season. That means it's time for a tailgate party. Maybe we should add cannabis to the buffet!
Football season has arrived. Tailgating is common in both college and professional settings. It is held at sporting events, festivals, concerts, etc. There's usually food, drinks, music, and fun. But should you add hemp drinks to your tailgating? Marijuana is slowly becoming legal across the United States, but not in some major football states. However, cannabis is legal and even some anti-cannabis countries have embraced it. In Texas, a huge football state, hemp beverages are sold in local and national chains. Hemp beverages are seen as a bite into the White Claw market, but are a little healthier.

Marijuana's nemesis, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), prides himself on blocking federal progress, but hemp is definitely getting the green light. Hemp beverages have become a billion dollar market. Wana Brands, a leader in the cannabis industry, has launched three beverages. Bayou Beverages of Texas has taken the state by storm, stocking Total Wine and convenience stores throughout the state. Hemp, like alcohol, is sold with age and sales method restrictions.
Hemp or CBD drinks are created by infusing hemp extract derived from the cannabis plant into a liquid base. Some of the most popular hemp-infused beverages include water, juice, tea, and coffee. One of the big differences between marijuana and hemp drinks is the “high.” When using delta-9 hemp, consumers tend to have a more intense experience and the effects come on faster than with THC. As your sensory perception changes and you feel more relaxed, you experience a heightened sense of euphoria.
California Governor Newsom supports emergency rules to curb sales of potent hemp products. The state is struggling with its cannabis industry, with high taxes and a free-running black market hurting mom-and-pop businesses. Although consumer interest is high, state oversight is driving consumers to the black market for cannabis and marijuana.
