CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) — Southern Illinois University is preparing for its fifth annual Hemp Cannabis Symposium.
Organizers of the SIU symposium say this year's event will showcase the latest trends, research and opportunities in the hemp and cannabis sector.
The 5th Annual Hemp Cannabis Symposium will take place on September 27, 2024. In keeping with the symposium’s theme, “Cannabis Science: Advancing Collaboration Between Academia and Industry,” the event will showcase the latest trends, research, and opportunities in the hemp and cannabis sector, providing valuable networking opportunities and exposure to a diverse audience of experts and enthusiasts. The event’s theme, “Cannabis Science: Advancing Collaboration Between Academia and Industry,” reflects that this is both a networking opportunity and an opportunity for exposure to a diverse audience of experts and enthusiasts who want to learn more about cannabis and hemp.
According to organizers, there will be opportunities for students who want to present their hemp/cannabis research. Attendance at the poster session will be free for attendees. Highlights include tours of the new BioLaunch lab and poster session space for student research. The event will also feature industry exhibits and biotechnology core laboratories. The collaborative event will feature educational presentations, local food, live music, a fermentation tent, and more than 20 artists and vendors.
