Melbourne has welcomed the world's largest Leica store, a four-storey space located on Little Collins Street in the CBD.
The store, which took two years to develop, offers a unique experience for photography enthusiasts, combining retail with educational and artistic elements.
The first floor serves as a retail space, stocking a wide range of German brand Leica cameras, lenses and sports optics. There is a gallery on the second floor, which is currently hosting the photography exhibition Colors of Antarctica by Stuart Robertson.
The third level, named the Academy, provides space for photography workshops and other educational programs. There is a rooftop area on the top floor, offering a quiet space for visitors.
“This store aims to contribute to Melbourne's cultural and economic landscape by offering more than a traditional retail experience,” Leica managing director Ryan Williams said. He said the opening of the store was timely and added that the upcoming opening of Town Hall Station is expected to increase footfall in Melbourne. area.
