A manual can opener, which is a food contact surface, was observed to have dried food residue on the blade and was not clean to look or feel. This is an ongoing problem and staffing requires education. Visibly fixed. The plumbing system was not maintained in good repair and the sink in the self-service area was observed leaking into the cabinets below. This is an ongoing issue and requires remediation.

Den Bubble Tea, 304 S. Progress St. Harrisburg, Sept. 18. A scoop stored in an ice maker with the handle touching an ice cube. Observed two containers of milk stored on top of ice cubes in an ice machine. The bottom of the container does not touch the food. Ice is considered a food by the FDA and the PA Department of Agriculture. Non-food contact surfaces are not cleaned frequently to prevent dirt and soil buildup. Old food residue was observed on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator where egg rolls were stored. Old food residue is a breeding ground for microorganisms. The ceiling tiles show water stains from previous roof leaks. The manager claims to have repaired the roof. Ceiling tiles should be replaced to show that the roof is leak-free in the future.

EZ Mart Halifax, 200 Market St. Halifax, Sept. 17. Failure. As evidenced by this non-compliance inspection, personnel did not have sufficient knowledge of food safety at this food facility. Food facilities use or sell watermelon and strawberry flavored gummies that contain CBD, an unapproved additive. Corrected on site. In the two-door superior bainmarie unit in the kitchen area, food was observed to be held at 60°F instead of below the required 41°F. It was observed that there were a number of dairy products in the reach-in refrigerator that did not comply with the date label indicating that they had a disposal or use-by date of less than 7 days and needed to be discarded. 2 gar pints of whole milk, 1 gel pint of chocolate milk, 4 gel half gallons of chocolate milk, 1 gel gallon of low fat milk, 11 Fairlife Protein Shakes with a best before date of 04/24, Nesquik with a best before date of 02/24 1 vanilla milk. Corrected on site. Food facilities do not have disinfectant test strips or test kits to determine the appropriate disinfectant concentration. A disposable product, a coffee stirrer, was observed not in its original protective packaging and stored in the coffee machine area. Corrected on site. Hand wash sinks and three-burner sinks in kitchen areas and public restrooms do not have water at a temperature of at least 85°F. Corrected on site. Fly tape, an insect control device, is installed over kitchen preparation areas and can contaminate food, equipment, and/or utensils. Corrected on site. Public restrooms do not have doors that close automatically. Old, unused equipment stored throughout the area must be removed from the food facility.
Momo Hunt Restaurant and Bar, 3500 Walnut St. Harrisburg, Sept. 17. A plastic container was observed lying on its side inside the rice cooker. This container is used to scoop rice from the bin, but the food handler touches the side of the container and places it on top of the rice, resulting in cross-contamination of the rice. Boxes of raw materials should be labeled with common names. Some of the bins had labels, some didn't. The floor tiles are torn. For effective cleaning, the floor must be smooth. Food residue and debris were scattered on the floor.
